Dr. Suhail Mithani grew up in northeastern Maryland. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he obtained degrees in Biology and Chemical Engineering. He received his medical degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed a residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Mithani completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Duke prior to joining the North Carolina Orthopaedic Clinic.
His clinical interests include nerve compressions, lymphatic disorders, and arthritis of the upper extremity. He is an Assistant Professor at Duke University, where he has clinical appointments in both Plastic and Orthopaedic Surgery. He has participated in research and authored book chapters and scientific articles on a variety of reconstructive and upper extremity topics.
Dr. Mithani lives in Durham with his wife, a Thoracic surgeon at Duke, and daughter. He enjoys cycling and is an avid football fan.
