A new outpatient clinic with a focus on function.

Who: This clinic is for any person who has had amputation surgery of an upper or lower extremity, or is considering amputation surgery.

What: The clinic is staffed by an interdisciplinary team of practitioners who are experts in helping patients progress through their rehabilitation and regain maximum function and performance.

Services: At this clinic you will receive consultation on any/all of the following:

  • Education about the rehabilitation process following amputation surgery, including options for prosthetic candidates and those who do not wish to use a prosthetic device.
  • Education regarding resources for amputees, including rehabilitation providers and support groups.
  • Recommendations for post-operative care including residual limb care, exercise and mobility, to prosthetic fitting.
  • Prescriptions for prosthetic devices, including prosthetic socket design, suspension systems and componentry, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Fabrication of new and adjustments of existing prosthetic devices and patient education regarding new prosthetic technology.
